New interns connect beloved Bronx family business with local University
By Katelyn Keane
Frank’s Sports recently hired three interns to revamp its marketing efforts and foster connections with the Fordham community. The three interns, Katelyn Keane, Emily Batuner, and Emily Dietzel, are juniors at Fordham University. Katelyn and Emily B. are marketing majors in Fordham’s Gabelli School of business while Emily D. is an economics major with a marketing minor. All three of the Frank’s Sports interns are on the Fordham women’s club soccer team!

The three interns have been working towards connecting Frank’s Sports with the Fordham community in a multitude of ways.
The interns have utilized social media sites including Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok, and Facebook to share updates on Frank’s, grow its audience, and better connect with its current customers.
They have already experienced success in seeing the Instagram account grow over 100 followers and having a TikTok reach over 17,000 viewers. Be sure to follow Frank’s on these social media accounts to keep up with the store!
Frank’s Sports is a proud sponsor of Fordham Athletics, and the interns have worked hard to make this sponsorship successful.
In order to connect with Fordham students and create a relationship between the Fordham community and Frank’s Sports, the interns have tabled at Fordham sports events, including basketball games. There, the interns talked with students about Frank’s sports, handed out flyers advertising our store, and brought overall awareness about all the great things at Frank’s Sports Shop! Unfortunately, Fordham has paused spectators at its sports events due to COVID-19 concerns. In the future, Frank’s Sports will be sponsoring special halftime challenges at the basketball games where students will have the chance to win a gift card to the store!
The interns also work to connect with club sports teams at Fordham to get them the sporting equipment they need. Frank’s Sports is proud to help supply equipment and uniforms to Fordham’s club teams. The club soccer team is currently in the process of having uniforms made at Frank’s Sports, and they are super excited to see how they turn out!
The interns are proud of the work they have accomplished thus far, and are excited to continue to spread the word about Frank’s Sport Shop!
