Frank’s Sport Shop offers a complete personal, professional and industrial custom uniforms department with in-house embroidery and screen printing services, which are the main two methods for adding your logo and/or custom designs to clothing and apparel.
We do most of our embellishment in house. Embroidery, Tackle Twill, Screening, and Tailoring are all done by our professional team on our own premises, making our delivery time one of the quickest in the New York Metropolitan area.
Embroidery or Screen Printing: Which one is better?
The answer depends on the characteristics and necessities of your project (design complexity, quantity of garments, etc). In general, embroidery is best for business shirts, polos, caps and jackets with pocket size logos; and screen printing is best for t-shirts or other lightweight garments with large logos.
You can find a brief explanation of both methods below, but don’t worry if you don’t know which one is best for you; our professional team will guide you and offer the best cost-effective option for your particular project.
Embroidery
The embroidery method basically means that your logo or design will be reproduced on your desired garment (for example: a polo or baseball cap) by stitching threads directly into the fabric. The stitching process is automatic and performed by embroidery machines. Your logo or design file is uploaded to a computer, which instructs the embroidery machine what to stitch. The garments are manually loaded onto the embroidery machine by our machine operators, who at the same time perform quality control of each embroidered sample.

Screen Printing
The screen printing method, sometimes also known as silkscreen printing, basically means that your logo or design will be reproduced on your desired garment (for example: a t-shirt) by transferring inks through mesh screens directly onto the fabric, except in those areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil. Each color in your design requires a separate mesh screen, meaning that if your logo/design has 4 different colors, 4 separate mesh screens will need to be created. The screen printing process is also partly automated, with each garment individually loaded and unloaded by our machine operators.
